12 Indoor Party Ideas for Lake Oconee Kids
Does your child have a Fall or Winter birthday? It can be difficult knowing what to do for a kid’s birthday party when the weather is so cold, rainy, and/or generally unpredictable that taking the celebration outdoors just isn’t an option.
Here’s a list of 12 ideas for indoor birthday parties to keep kids happy, entertained, warm, and dry, when the weather outside is less than welcoming.

Scavenger Hunt
A scavenger hunt doesn’t have to be held outside! Make a plan, print out some clues leading to indoor objects, and get the kids together in groups to work towards a common goal. Just make sure to tell them what areas are included and which are off limits, and follow them around in case there are questions. And if you’re not confident in your abilities to come up with a good hunt, a Google search will turn up lots of ideas, and even lists of clues that are ready to be printed out and used!

Although Chic Fil A doesn’t have birthday party planning services, they do welcome kids parties if you’re willing to DIY, and the indoor playground is sure to keep kids busy having fun while you kick back with a fresh lemonade.
Rent the Aquatic Center in Morgan County for a private pool party, and your child will feel like they’re having a summer birthday! This giant indoor pool is kept at 86 degrees year-round, and has a floating raft with a slide, balance bridge, and bouncy platform—it’s basically a party inflatable on the water. Plus, there’s a party room, changing facilities, and a Red Cross certified lifeguard on duty at all times.
Fool of Air’s punny name sets the stage for fun. Hiring them for your party doesn’t just mean balloon swords, hats, and animals that the party guests can take home with them, but also inspired balloon creations ranging from three feet tall ninja turtles to Beauty and the Beast style roses in bell jars that will complement the theme of your party.
Buy some sheet masks and nail polish in bulk, provide matching robes for each guest, and create party favor bags with items like lip gloss and scented lotion and you have the recipe for a super-girly, super-fun spa party. For an extra level of glamour, hire a professional to do manicures or kid-friendly facials, or find a spa that doesn’t mind hosting a party for children. Get a camera and set up a photo booth for some glamorous post-pampering pics.

Having your kid’s birthday party at a movie theater not only means kid-friendly snacks and entertainment will be provided, Parkside Main 8 has party rooms available for more traditional-style celebrating—like when it’s time to blow out the candles and eat cake. The individual theaters also have balcony areas where party guests can watch a movie all together in a group.
