A Contemplative Celtic Communion // The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer

  • The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer 303 North Main Street Greensboro, GA, 30642 United States (map)

THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH OF THE REDEEMER WELCOMES YOU TO A NEW MONTHLY OFFERING:

Everyone is welcome, regardless of where you are on your journey. This service draws from ancient resources and may be particularly appealing to those who find that traditional mainline churches no longer resonate with them.

Contemplative: The service is candlelit in the early evening, featuring gentle music played on piano, cello, and other “soft” instruments. The liturgy is Christian, introspective, with intentional spaces of silence for meditation, reflection, and personal prayer.

Celtic: Much of the prayer, poetry, music, and theology draws from the ancient Christian Celtic traditions of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, and England. The emphasis is on the Trinity, the divine that dwells within all people, and the sanctity of all creation—what the ancient Celts called “God’s First Book.”

Communion: The Lord’s Supper is the central focus of this service. At Christ’s table, where all are welcome, we are fed, nourished, and healed by our God, whose essence and nature are Love.

Many people have become disillusioned, disenfranchised, rejected, or bored by churches and their communities—including our own. Yet, we all hunger for a relationship with God. We seek to be reminded that God loves us more than we can possibly fathom, that by our very nature we are good—God’s beloved children—and that nothing can separate us from Christ. In this Contemplative Celtic Communion, we aim to create a space where everyone can be reminded of our deepest truths and find healing, rest, wholeness, and holiness. No strings attached. No pre- or post-conditions. Only welcome and communion.
